Interesting. When I was in college biology, fungi had their own phylum, but they weren’t a kingdom to themselves. But then again, Pluto was still a planet, too.

Hi Weiyi,

Hmmm. Never really thought about it. Now that you have me thinking, it still doesn’t matter to me. I consider what grows out of the ground to be plants. Doing a quick search, there seems to be some debate among certain circles about whether a mushroom is a plant or an animal. Until animals start growing out of the ground, I’m considering a mushroom to be a plant – that’s just me. Is there a point or a question here?
