Minimalist vs. stability shoe for someone who has herniated disks and over-pronates. What is safer for 3 mile runs?

Hi Lillian,
Additional details that need to be taken into account for this individual include: running experience, their current shoes and overall fitness level (especially hip/core strength). Any individual new to minimalist shoes should progress slowly in wearing them.
If this individual lacks running experience and endurance, has poor hip/core strength and/or has never worn a minimalist shoe before, I would definitely opt for a shoe with adequate stability and cushion.
This individual should contact their health professional to get their input as well.
Best of luck,
Hannah
