Make It Fun!
I work in a hydrotherapy pool and try to give my clients the best workouts I can think of. However, I do have those certain clients who cancel what seems about every other week. I am thinking I need to give them more of a reason to come in other than exercise and I would really like to add a component or two to try to “make it fun” for them and so they don’t always feel like they are working out. (Most of them are older and set in their ways so they can be a challenge already). For some of my clients I have played tug of war, encouraged boxing aimmed at me, had noodle fights, played with the medicine ball etc. But I am open to all sorts of suggestions that can be adapted to the pool.
Thanks in advance!
Balloons are a cheap and easy way to have fun and get exercise. They can play balloon volleyball, or can see how long they can keep it in the air. Music is a great way to increase enjoyment (if you have control over it). Ask them what they would like to hear.
You might also want to look at your cancellation policy: My clients sign an agreement to pay if they cancel with less than 24 hours notice. (I rarely enforce this since most only cancel in a real emergency). Of course you want to keep it fun, but they need to take some responsibility as well.
