Looking for Personal Training Software to use for Online Training/Consulting with questionnaires, workouts, nutrition, etc. Thx!
Trainerize is a great program with wonderful functionality but it does not do nutrition. You can design your workouts, set basic templates, track exercise progress, body progress, take progress pictures, etc.
There is a program called Dotfit that will do workouts as well as Nutrition but I find it’s limited because you can’t save workout templates or share them between clients.. meaning you have to build from scratch each time and the way the exercises are done, that takes time. You could have it build the workouts then modify them.
Both have their benefits.
There is a company I looked into called Virtuagym that offers nutrition and exercise software. It is a complete solution but the drawback I found was the high cost per month and a $500 fee. Oh and the fact that they also offer their program to the public for $6.95/month. Other than that it was very impressive.
I am using Trainerize now. It is a lot more affordable and has a nice calendar section to remind clients to work out.
Lisa is right that it does not have nutrition.
It is a little cumbersome to use and it takes a while to set it up but it is not a bad way to go. It can be very functional and you can customize it.
two other options I have really liked even better was mindbody.com and http://www.fitsw.com/. Mindbody was very nice and professionally done – the only downside was that it’s pricey. FitSW seems more tailored for individual trainers / smaller gyms because its Free – just not quite as polished as Mindbody. Both Fitsw and mindbody have excellent ways to track progress on your client’s fitness and they both do a great job at recording workouts and diets. They both do an outstanding job of letting me manage all my client’s info in one location. You can also attach them to your website.
