I have three clients with MS, all of them present in different ways. Even the generally known sensitivity to warm temperatures is not common to those three.
MS has a different face with every person having it, and the medication regiments may be different.
The one thing I have learned is not to assume it’s all MS just because something is not working as expected. People with MS often have falls, and those create problem all be themselves as they would with any other person. I have always looked as an explanation outside of MS and tried to address that. I have found this approach to work quite successfully.
You are very welcome to contact me offline if you would like so I can share more specifics.
I strongly recommend that this individual sees or has been released by a PT or an OT! The main goal with MS is to improve that person’s overall functional capacity. The exercise program should focus on improving, balance, coordination, functional strength and endurance, and improving gait pattern. Pay special attention to pelvic, trunk and shoulder stability and make sure the person plenty of rest between sessions.
