An alternative to free websites is Weebly. I just recently purchased their pro option but have been using it for over 3 years for free! I purchased the domain name and have done all the work myself. I’m shocked at how professional it looks with me doing the work behind the scenes! It’s super easy to create. I do agree that IDEA has an invaluable resource with their site offerings as well. Good luck!
I use www.trainertry.com for my site. It’s completely customizable and easy to edit. I upgraded to the pro version but the free version worked fine. It comes with premade content and a booking schedule, forum, members area, and ability to change colors, layout etc. I found similar sites selling the same thing for $50 bucks!
I agree with Karin, to make a website on your own is very interesting and there are many types of software available online now. I built a website with WordPress software and it is very easy and appealing. When building a website I got help from www.simplewebsitetutorials.com, which is a free online tutorial which instructs in website creation.
To design your website, use Website builder software . You can get it as a freebie from the provider http://www.9cubehosting.com/free_tools/website_building_software/ after getting cheap hosting plans from them .
