http://www.jacobsladderexercise.com/ What are your thoughts or experiences with the Jacobs Ladder. How have you implemented it into your or clients program design? Any ideas on what populations this would be good for?
Yea, it is completely self powered which is always good. You wear a harness belt around your waist that is attached to a cable that runs into the machine, so basically you can be on the ladder without any movement but the more you try to reach the top of the ladder the faster it goes. http://youtu.be/ahQ0GiZIZ1I
I remember reading about this piece of equipment in the Club Industry magazine earlier this year.
I also like the idea that it’s a “green” piece of equipment. It is self powered and because of that you can place it anywhere because no outlet is needed. (I believe its also made out of recycled material as well!) Looks like alot of fun too! 🙂
Looks like the Biggest Loser show got the naming rights for this …. http://www.biggestloserladder.com/
I really appreciate the feedback, those were some good thoughts and suggestions. Keeping form would be hard, therefor being a concern with clients with orthopedic limitations. You can pace the device at any level you want to work at but you always run the risk of missing one of the pegs with your hand. It is probably the most perplexing piece of equipment to figure out.
