The responses are so valid within this thread. I am certified through NAFC as a CPT and very happy I took the time to investigate upfront. I am fully aware that NASM and ACE are the leaders with AFAA right in the ranks. I am also certified through AFAA in Group Fitness. I decided to do NAFC due to their study material and their focus on preventing injury & training principles. The overall course is very detailed. It was very challenging with many test to complete with a passing percentage you had to obtain of 80%. 500-600 questions answered, that’s pretty deep for any organization. I am a veteran of the industry but took a hiatus for a bit. When I decided to re-enter the fitness profession full-time I did my investigating to make sure my credentials were on point. My overall goal was to be prepared for my clients as an independent Trainer. If you are looking for a big box gym this may not be the way you want to go as many gyms look at the NASM and ACE as all they will accept. It is a shame really, bc they are missing out on very educated professionals that are very prepared for the success of their clients by holding the NAFC certification. All in I have not missed a beat with this certification. I do hope this is helpful to anyone looking at this certification. Good luck all!
One goal. One Passion. Fitness. Thanks! Penny
