Good answers. The issue of posterior patellar pressure is determined primarily by the position of the knee over the foot. If the knee proceeds anterior to the foot post patellar pressure increases on extension. it’s why I coach patients to keep the knee ‘behind’ the toes as progress to knee and hip flexion continues.

Longer lunge does not PUT stress on the patello/tibofemoral joint, whereas a short lunge
places the greatest stress!

Watch technique is vital!!

Longer = more quads

Shorter = more hamstring/ more glutes

Very good topic –

Little off topic…

Escamilla put out some good work and have followed him work closely

Anyway – “google” him and find out what he did on an airplane

Which put an end to his research days.

The important concept biomechanically that trainers need to understand is the muscles behind the movement, the biomechanics working at the joint and the effect on the joint first then the articular structures such as the ligaments, capsule, etc
