Is there an industry standard for instructors in regard to how often they cancel a class?
I have an instructor who has cancelled or had subs for her classes 25% of the time in the last year. Is there an industry standard in regards to how much “time off” an instructor can take without affecting her obligations to her students and the class? 25% would be equivalent to 1 in 4 classes which I feel is excessive. This makes me wonder about her true commitment to the class. What do you think would be an appropriate percentage amount to require of an instructor?
Thanks all for the comments. I do have policy and procedures all of the instructors/trainers have to sign before contracting with us. So she does know what is expected of her. I just was not sure if there was some kind of “industry standard” out there or if others have experienced this same thing. We will see how it goes when we give her 30 days to improve to our standards. We have the right to not renew her proposals if things don’t work out. I appreciate everyone’s comments and suggestions! Thanks again!
