Is there an industry standard for instructors in regard to how often they cancel a class?
I have an instructor who has cancelled or had subs for her classes 25% of the time in the last year. Is there an industry standard in regards to how much “time off” an instructor can take without affecting her obligations to her students and the class? 25% would be equivalent to 1 in 4 classes which I feel is excessive. This makes me wonder about her true commitment to the class. What do you think would be an appropriate percentage amount to require of an instructor?
Right, management sets the standard. 25% is a lot for an instructor to miss. Beyond MGT. how the class operates could dictate whether or not that is a truely a problem. A pre-fomatted class with different attendees shouldn’t be a terrible issue but, if the instructor has some creative control, then this would lead to discrepancies from class to class and that might confuse people trying to get in a rhythm with their instructor… Not Cool!
