is there a water aerobics certification?
I do not offer a certification class. But I do offer CECs in aquatic exercise for certified Group Fitness Instructors and Personal Trainers.
Interested instructors can check out my website at www.hawaiifitnessacademy.com . The CEC courses are under the “Fit Pro Cafe” tab, Beyond Basic H2O and HIH2O. I have been instructing elite athletes to post rehab clients in the water for over 30 years. If you are ready for a vacation, why not take a CEV. A Continuing Education Vacation to the Big Island of Hawaii.
I am a certified Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer (with two college degrees and dozens of specialty certs). My courses have not been rejected by any NCCA organization to date.
Hi Julie,
in the interest of fairness to AEA I have to add that, at least at this point in time, there is a change in the recognition of non-AEA CECs. I just received my form for renewing my certification, and I can apply all CECs without any extra charge. They are calling it a ‘Special’, though, and I am not sure whether this will be a permanent arrangement.

Hi Julie,
I would go to the Aquatic Exercise Association www.aeawave.com which is probably the most respected certification of the kind.
The only one thing I never liked about them is that they are not honoring other organization’s continued education automatically. They will do it but only for an additional fee and then only for 1.0 CeCs even if it is much more than that. That money grab always rubbed me the wrong way.
But they provide excellent instruction.
