I have to say that there are some great responses in this thread but I’ll add my perspective as well. I am a Personal Trainer and it at the moment it is a secondary career for me. I work part-time hours BUT it is very much a full-time committment. The time and money I spend on my business surpass anything “part-time”. Some days I’m burned out and if I didn’t pace myself as I do I’d given up by now from sheer exhaustion.
This is a VERY competative business and like it was said above, you have to have a passion for this. Getting in to just to be in it will do more harm (to both you and your clients) than good. Not trying to discourage you from pursuing your certs but if you are going to do it, go for it with full intentions of going full-time. Best of luck to you though. This is avery rewarding field to be in and I myself can’t wait to make enough to completely transition into full-time training.
