Once Memorial Day rolls around, I’ll rarely have long pants on. I’ll absolutely were shorts to my training sessions, which are all conducted in homes. However, I generally wear the cargo shorts – the ones with all the pockets (a couple of inches above the knee). And I’ll wear a polo-type shirt with them. I feel that cotton workout shorts or biking shorts are too casual & don’t give off a professional look – just my opinion.
As I bike as much as possible, I wear bike shorts under a pair of standard shorts. I put on the regular shorts when I arrive at the clinic or at a clients home before entering the building. As this is Hawaii, long pants aren’t very practical. When I lived in Colorado, I wore long pants most of the time as I did feel it was more professional. Here it is considered normal to wear shorts all of the time. And suits and ties are very rare.
I invite anyone interested to check out my website. I teach CECs here in Hawaii. You could come for a continuing education vacation. www.hawaiifitnessacademy.com
