The position biomechanically if I understand your question posed correctly is with the elbow bent at 90 degrees which would represent elbow flexion at 90 degrees which is targeting the medial deltoid primarily and supraspinatus, teres major, infraspinatus, teres minor and don’t forget the lats are stabilized concentrically.
Since the Lat originates from the sixth thoracic vertebra and inserts on the
intertuercular groove of humerus does it place excessive pressure? Answer is NO biomechanically..
