For all practical pruposes no. The BOSU is made with a Burst-Resistant material and was designed to be used by professional athletes, some weighing as much as 350lbs or more. Also, the BOSU has a platform that is 25 inches in diameter and it inflates into a hemisphere 12 high when fully inflated. There are other sizes. This is the most common BOSU size found in health clubs.
I love jumping on the BOSU and so do my clients! I have used it as a “step” class and facing a pilates tower for balance during the more challenging jumps. It provides an awesome interval bout in a small space. Just a personal tid-bit: I like the feel of jumping on it barefoot better than with a chunky sneaker- seems that it would be better for the fascia at the foot & ankle barefoot as well.
Hi. I too use the BOSU for plyometric exercises like jumping. I’m not sure of the weight limit, but you should probably be able to get that information by contacting BOSU directly or one of their suppliers. BOSU’s are definitely a fun piece of equipment to use with my clients!
