Is anyone making a living solely as a self-employed health/wellness coach?Or is it more adjunct to personal trainers/dietitians?
I’m considering getting into health and wellness coaching. I’m also an RRCA certified running coach, but am not a personal trainer or nutritionist. It seems like most people I’ve met who don’t work for a company full-time as a wellness coach are doing the health coaching as an adjunct to personal training or as a dietitian.
Is anyone making a living solely from their own business as a health/wellness coach? Thanks!!
Hi Amie,
I don’t know of anybody unless you count the likes of Anthony Robbins and
Dr. Phil.
I personally do not even advertise myself so much as a health coach but weave the information from those certifications into the entire package of personal training.

Hi Amie,
You may want to look at corporate opportunities if that is your passion. There may be some need there for just health and wellness coaching. I am doing a lot more health coaching these days, but I offer it as part of my personal training business and it has worked out well. Like Karin, I also tend to incorporate some information as I train–they just go hand in hand. The combination has definitely made me a better trainer.
Good luck to you.
