it depends in which context this question is asked. There are some diets out there for weight loss which use glycemic index as a recommendation for which foods to eat. Yes it’s a very common question.
I stay within my scope of practice and will explain in very general terms the effects of high glycemic food sources and encourage my clients to eat “real foods”- nothing out of a box and to pay attention to their nutritional intake. I also suggest that they meet with a nutritionist and work on a plan together.
I have not, yet. When I do, I will stress the importance of a balanced, healthy diet of real food, not packaged and/or over processed food.
