By now you have visited the Exercise is Medicine website and downloaded the materials the ACSM have provided in order to help get you started. FYI there is a full media kit at your disposal. My family doctor was very impressed with the “Your Prescription to Health Flier Series.” He has said it has been helpful to him as far as giving his patients with clinical conditions guidelines to start engaging in physical activity.
Take your time and go through the entire EIM website. Loads of great information.
I also encourage you to read ACSM book, “ACSM’s Exercise is Medicine – A Clinician’s Guide to Prescribing Exercise. This will be very helpful to you as far as speaking with clinicians regarding viewing physical activity (participation or lack of participation) as a vital sign.
