I would suggest to start with a general group exercise certification of which there are many. This site provides a lot of choices http://www.ideafit.com/certifications/group-fitness.
I too would suggest a primary group fitness certification as this will allow you to teach quite a few different formats including boot camp. Try looking at the link Karin suggested. Two of the more recognized certification organizations are ACE & AFAA. Wish you well on your endeavor to certify!
You have many options for a group fitness certification as the others have already mentioned, but I would make sure the certification you choose is nationally recognized and holds high standards.
As a side note suggestion, an NCCA accredited personal trainer certification would pair really well with a group instructor certification. An understanding of anatomy, physiology and how the body moves would be beneficial for the small group classes such as bootcamps that you wish to teach. It will give you a better understanding of the body.
Best wishes to you,
Hello D. Sey,
I like my ACE personal trainer and group fitness certifications; knowing how the body works makes me a better group instructor and the group instructor makes me a better personal trainer. I asked the gyms in my area which they prefer which helped me make a decision.
Yes, be sure to choose a NCCA certification.
