Yes, you can do the ACE certifications via home study. Go to www.acefitness.org to sign up for whichever certification you want to do. They have several packages available to choose from. I loved that ACE had wonderful online, telephone, and email support for the personal trainer certification. Their materials were demanding, but not overwhelming ~ and I don’t come from a fitness/exercise background. ACE does worldwide certifications, so they are worth a look.
some of the ACE courses require that you go to an independent testing location, and I am not sure whether ACE provides this support.
However, there is a very respected personal trainer certification program from NASM which offers options for international participants. I am attaching a link so that you can see for yourself. http://www.nasm.org/personal-trainer/international-cpt
ACE is an agency that provides certification in various areas. Go to the website and select the certification you would like to take: personal training, group exercise, etc. Find the closest site where the certification is offered. Sign up. Go take the test.
There are a few things you will need first: CPR certification for example. You are also well advised to purchase some of the study materials. Even if you are working in the industry, it will help you to prepare and make sure you are not missing something.
I know it is offered outside the U.S. but I do not know whether they offer the test where you are. You should get in contact with ACE to ask:
Phone: 1-888-825-3636 ext 783
Fax: 1-858-576-6564 – Attention: Certifications
Email: [email protected]
ACE is different than IDEA, which is a professional organization. If you are working in the industry you can pay a fee and join.
