If I’m becoming a self employed personal trainer which CPT is best?
I am starting to train other people mostly acquaintances. I’m looking to build credibility for my own business to do this full-time. I know the most valuable thing is my story that I lost a hundred and ten pounds eight years ago and I’ve kept it off. That’s actualay a mental thing mostly. My coaching will be mostly mental but I want the accreditation of being certified and having that going for me also. If I never intend to work at a gym which CPT is best? I looked into the Big 4 and it looks to me that in NCSM is the cheapest big name. As long as it’s the big 4 do you think it will serve my purposes? I’m getting all sorts of other training that apply to my work.
Hi Will,
congratulations on your personal success!
I was wondering what you mean by “Big 4” and assume it to be ACE, ACSM, NASM and NSCA ?!? If that be the case, you cannot go wrong with either one of them.

Cheapest is not always the best, this decision is based on what you want to do.
It sounds like you may also want to look into getting a Health Coaching Certification! It’s awesome that you lost 110 pounds!
How about doing ACE personal training and ACE health coaching.
