Hello Pamela Snyder,
Congratulations; aqua zumba looks like much fun.
I would contact Zumba about your situation. I am sure they would be happy to accommodate you.
Click on “notify me”.
I hope you find what you are looking for with Zumba.

There is no online education module for Aqua Zumba. You have to get your license at a training or at ZIN Convention. Are you going to ZINCON in a couple of weeks? The trainings fill up pretty fast so unless you’re already registered for aqua you probably won’t get in, but you could always ask at registration if there have been any cancellations.
BTW, the Aqua Zumba license is very VERY different from your B1 Zumba. It’s still Zumba, but the resistance properties of water change how quickly you can move, what steps are and aren’t effective, the length and intensity of warm-up, cool-down, etc. Gravity is different in water. OK, I know that gravity is a constant, but it FEELS and ACTS differently in water. It’s not just dancing from the pool deck.
You really do need an Aqua Zumba license to teach AZ.
OK, one last thought for you. Have you considered trying to host a training? If you have a place that has a pool that could allow you access to a group-ex room for most of the day and a pool for the last 2 to 3 hours of the day, you could host the training and get yourself trained for free.
I’ve done this very successfully. It’s how I got my Strong by Zumba, my first Zumba Gold license (I’ve now taken it 4 times), Zumba Toning, and several other licenses and certifications from other companies.
Also, as a ZES (I’m a ZES for Gold, not for Aqua), I can tell you that sometimes ZES need local contacts for cities / facilities to host them.
I hope you can find an aqua training locally, host one, or are willing to travel for one. Aqua is super fun to teach.
