It sounds like this client is eating for increasing mass not losing weight. If the client is not eating immediately after each exercise session, recovery and gains will be greatly reduced. So, first off they should be planning on eating asap after working out. Especially after heavy load days. Eating late is ok if it is directly after a work out and the current research indicates eating a meal with 20 -30 grams of protein (complete protein) and 60 gram of quality carbs. But if the work out was more than an hour before they will be eating, I would cut that back by half. The body is not going to make good use of more calories in most situations. So more calories will go to fat storage. Eating late is not great, but not eating can be just as bad. I would recommend an RD.
