I need to loose about 10 pounds in 1 month. How?
I am doing jillian michaels yoga meltdown for 1 hour every day for the past 8 days.I am currently on steroids s/p renal transplant. I gained 2 pounds in this 8 days. I feel depressed. Since I am on steroids I cant perform weight bearing exercise. Can anyone suggest? after weighing myself I dont feel like exercising anymore
Hi Sirisha,
I agree with Susan. I don’t follow Jillian’s DVD’s so I can’t speak of them. Also, because I don’t know you or your medical condition, fitness level, diet plan and health history it will be very difficult for me to give you any advice other than you should consult with your doctor, a dietitian (if you don’t have one then seek one) and a real trainer (not a DVD).
After you do all of the above I think you will be able to get better results and have a real progress. Don’t get disappointed or discouraged, but instead stay optimistic and look for the right avenues to reach your goals.
Best,
Harris
It’s interesting that you say you “need” to lose 10 pounds and not “want.” Are you under orders to lose weight in the first place? Or is there a more pressing matter at hand as to why you need to lose it in 1 months time? If so, you obviously need guidance of some professionals: physician for info on the medication and how it can affect your weight, as well as giving you information as to where the weight is coming from (for all we know, it could be as a result of your body storing water in your cells as a side-effect of your medication); dietician to help you with a sound diet plan that will work for your condition; personal trainer or even an exercise physiologist to design a proper workout program for the condition you have.
Hello Sirisha,
You may have better luck working with professionals, as the others suggest.
If I may…since you do not feel like exercising after weighing yourself, then…do not weigh yourself. Rather, go by how your clothes fit.
There is much to discuss about weight loss and doing it properly.
Talk to and work with a trainer, dietitian and doctor for best results.
Why do you need to lose the weight faster than two pounds a week?
Good luck and keep up the fighting spirit.
Sirisha,
I really think you should consider working with an ACSM Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist. (ACSM RCEP).
An individual who holds this credential has a deep understanding of developing exercise programs for people living with clinical conditions. Furthermore, the exercise programs he/she develops are safe.
Additionally, you might want to also consider working with a health or wellness coach to assist you in identifying the main reasons you want to change.
I hope this is of help to you.
