Joanne is correct. Also, most insurance companies (but not necessarily all of them, so check with your insurer) will allow you to add a certain number of additional insureds to your policy free of charge. But there are some companies that will charge you a premium for this so be sure to check it out with your company. Also, in most instances if an insurance claim is ever made against one of your additional insureds, any award against your policy reduces the amount of coverage available to you (another issue you will want to ask your insurance company about).

I don’t know who your carrier is, however, normally you just call your insurer and let them now the party you want to include as the additional insured. Once you no longer working for them or working or their premises you call your insurance agency and remove them.
