Convey what you are about but distinguish the service name also…
Appeal to your market/demographic w/o totally alienating the general public …
It can be an interesting name if you can build or have the operational structure/characteristics well in place. You can always grow but, sometimes the name says it all & you will have to personally demo those characteristics.
Enjoy this birthing process, make it personal, keep it professional(no this is hobby names) and if you can promote what all others around you overlook in their service(benefits, not features).
I would say the most important points are:
– Make the name reflect what you and your organization stand for
– Make it something that drawls the demographic you have in the area and you want in your facility (don’t name it Hard Iron if you want 35 year old stay at home moms that love yoga)
– Make it timeless: You want your facility to last through the years, don’t name it “Twerk Fitness” if no one will know what Twerking is in two years.

One additional piece of advice I forgot to mention earlier is to make sure the name you choose is not trademarked. You can easily purchase a domain name as companies will sell it to you if it’s available. However, you have to make sure it is not trademarked by having a search done.
