I just passed the ACE Health coach. Where can I look for part time work to supplement my personal training?
Hello Dianne Della Ratta,
Congratulations and welcome to health coaching. I use all my certifications for all my clients since no one person fits into one box. Think about the type of client you want to train and do what it takes to attract them.
Tell others what you offer and let your current circle know of your new improved service. Use your education and degrees to your advantage and enjoy the ride. I see you have many great reviews and marketing education which you should marry.
You also have the advantage of being in a populated area to get the word out.
Thank you,
Natalie aka NAPS 2 B Fit.
Hi Dianne,
In addition to what Lisa already mentioned, I would start with your current clientele. You are already offering personal training, and the health coaching could be an extension of what you currently offer. They compliment each other very well.
I am also an ACE Certified Health Coach (and ACE Personal Trainer) and offer both kinds of packages to my clients.
Networking and exploring outside opportunities are great, but don’t forget about the clients you currently have and their referrals.
Best,
Christine
There are a number of resources to look through. First, since you are certified thorough ACE, they should have a directory. Second, browse the facilities in your area and see who is looking. Depending on your skill set, you’d be surprised by the fact a facility you looked up is looking for someone like you. Emphasize your specialty or strengths, go visit in person and you will open doors. Also, always a good idea to talk to your instructors or friends in the industry. in home training is a big business now days, so talk to your friends & co-workers. you never know who is in search of someone like you. also, get your profile up on ideafitconnect or other forums that will give you exposure. Lastly, the “3 foot rule” Tell anyone within 3 feet of you what you do and how good you are at it! You will grow in no time!
