I agree with previous posts. In my opinion, get as much practical experience as you possible can. This may mean volunteering at a local Active Adult Community, middle or high school, health fair or other venue to, for example give free fitness assessments. Or serve as a volunteer intern at a local club or community center. Also training your friends. Each of this will provide you with some much needed “hands on” experience that you can then use to distinguish yourself from other new trainers who may have no “personal training experience.”
As a new trainer you should strive to learn as much as you can! I’ve been training for over 17 years and I never stop learning.
