Weight loss is about food intake rather than exercise.
Don’t get me wrong, there are MANY benefits to exercising but in order to lose weight you must take a look at your food choices.
Daily swimming would be great along with resistance training.
It would be great if you could find a personal trainer / health coach to work with you to formulate a plan.
It is difficult to specifically advise you on that since we are not there to evaluate you. However, for weight loss, you want to take a look at your nutrition first since the majority of your weight loss will occur with a change in your eating habits. Exercise, both cardio and strength training, are necessary as well–but are more of a “supplement” to changes in your eating habits. You may want to contact a Registered Dietician for a complete evaluation and meal plan specific to your needs.
I would reconsider the swimming….. My first thought for you would be to find a facility with a pool for swimming. Swimming is wonderful cardiovascular work and very easy on your joints–in your case your feet.
You will find the combination of a healthy, clean diet and exercise together are the best thing for weight loss. Small, healthy changes in your habits can lead to big health benefits.
Best to you and good luck.
