I have a new client that has a heart defect and a resting heart rate of 91.
The client told me that when she works out it can jump close to 200. She was given Beta Blockers years ago from the doctor, but stop taking them because she said they made her too tired all the time. She also told me that she knows when she needs to slow down or stop pushing to hard. I am pretty hesitant about the situation.
Now mind you I am new to the field and this is my first client. Any advise on the situition or even things I should stay away from?
Thank you.
Hi Mandy,
I wouldn’t do anything with her until she sees her Dr. & gets that situation under control & is cleared for exercise. I definitely sympathize with you since this is your first client – but you don’t want her to be your last. That is not a good situation she’s dealing with. Good luck Mandy – I hope everything works out.
