I have 8 TRX suspension trainers and 16 participants
Hi Linda,
If you feel comfortable in coaching participants doing different exercises with that size group, you could do a small circuit with various timed exercise stations. There any any number of options for this. Your background has strength, Pilates, and Yoga, so you could do a station with one or two of these (example, 8 on TRX and 8 doing an exercise on a mat or with weights). That way, all class members remain active at a station while “waiting their turn”.
If you have more than 16, you could just add another exercise station and rotate the participants through.
Hope this helps.
Christine
I teach TRX group classes as well, 5 straps and varying participants. I usually have participants pair up, and while one person is doing a TRX exercise the other person is doing a complimentary exercise off the strap. I usually have each exercise last between 30sec and 1 minute.
Then I also throw in a group exercise where all participants are doing the same exercise at once (a non-TRX exercise), like walking lunges, burpees, inchworm, sit ups and so on.
Hope this helps!

Hi Linda…
Just like Christine said, we have often done a TRX Fusion class when we have more attendees than TRX stations where we would have half the class on TRX while the other half were doing another format. We found additional core work seemed to be the best option for our group.
Good luck and glad you’re having the problem of more people that equipment!
Circuit, circuit, circuit.
I like to pair with sand bells, ViPR, bodyweight training, HIIT intervals, etc.
Partner 1 = TRX exercise 30-45 seconds while partner is doing an opposing muscle group on the floor or with alternate equipment. Then switch. When I have a big class (big = 8+ for me because I sell this as small group training so I prefer 6), I keep the exercises very simple and only two stations – a TRX station and a non-TRX station (but actually I use CrossCore not TRX because I prefer that product). When I have a normal to small class, I will sometimes do a 3-station circuit – TRX, sand-bell, HIIT drill.
I have tons of examples of this. I’ll dig some up from my youtube channel.
