I bought a prepaid package from my PT just before Christmas. WE took a break over the holidays and when I contacted her to start up again, she was not ready to. She could offer only sporadic days and not our usual 2 days/week. This didn’t work for me, so I asked for a refund. She refused saying she was not at my beck and call. How can I get my money back?
I am sorry that you are finding yourself in this position. It sounds to me that you have a contract with the trainer herself, not with a gym. I assume that you have records of your transactions, including what and when you paid and how many session you took.
I would try one more friendly approach. As certified trainers, we all abide by a code of ethics as set forth by the organization that certifies us (here is an example https://www.acefitness.org/fitness-certifications/certified-code-of-ethi…). Her behavior is, to put a mildly, suspicious. If I were in your position, I would tell her that I would bring your case to the organization that certified her.
As trainers, our reputation is our greatest asset. Just about all business comes through word-of-mouth, and none of us can afford that kind of publicity.
