I am thinking about taking a Personal Fitness Trainer course with US Career Institute and I wonder if this Institute is great
Hi Doug,
it’s the first time I have heard of them which is not a discredit but it certainly means that they are not widely known. They do not seem to be NCCA accredited which is a point not in their favor.
I would check with prospective employment situations whether those have a preference for a certification. There are always ACE, NASM and ACSM, and you can be sure that you will get a job in any gym with those certifications.
I hope that others here have personal experience into that organization and can provide you with insight from that perspective.

There are a few ways to judge whether this,or any, training or certification will get you what you want…. professional respect and employment.
One way is to look at the materials the organization offering the training produces. This is not generally the best way to go. It would be like going to buy a car from someone and only listening to what the person selling it tells you about how great it is. Any place that wants your money will frame how they present themselves to their best advantage.
Another way is to look at the credentials of people who are working in and successful in an industry. There is a part of this web site where you can look at lists of trainers in your geographic area and you can easily see which certifications and what education they have. This is a very good way to see what trainings are going to be the best bet for getting the attention of employers.
Another way to see whether a particular training will help you get employment is to look at some places in your area where you might want to work and see what their requirements are. This is also really helpful, because it is silly to do a training that is convenient or cheap only to discover you will still have to get something else because no one accepts the first one.
Like Karin I have never heard of this organization.
And I agree with her that most places really want NCCA accredited certifications, and that the three she mentions are some of the best known and most respected.
Hello Doug,
Do not be discouraged, once unheard of organizations are now NCCA accredited; but, for the time being you want to stick with NCCA accredited to be safe.

First time hearing of them.
NSCA is a very reputable certification. You can check their site for the cert that matches your experience and preference.
