I am new to the Queens area and looking to work independently as a Trainer, does anyone know the best place to network?
Hi Tomas,
Local avenues like the others have mentioned are a great way to network–look at social media (local Facebook groups, Linkedin), local gyms, community centers, and even the Chamber of Commerce can all help support local businesses.
It may also help to get involved in various local sporting events such as races, etc… This will help to get your name out there.
Good luck,
Christine
Hello Tomas Milian,
You are in a highly populated area; so, you should not have too much difficulty drumming up business. You could also wear your logo clothing everywhere you go. The best place to network is everywhere; try to bring your expertise up in conversation.
Take care,
Natalie aka NAPS 2 B Fit.
The first place I would start is to see if there are fb groups in your area for personal trainers who do what you do. I know of several fitness communities in your area but they are for dance fitness formats, but I’m sure if you use the right search terms, you’ll find there is already networking going on in your area.
Linked In is also a good place to start meeting others in your field. Once you meet a couple of people who do what you do and link with them, it opens you to the possibility of connecting with their shared connections. I’ve met several solid business contacts this way.
