I am a personal trainer/fitness consultant that is looking for a change. I would like to work with people that want to make fitness a priority for a week, month, etc. I am interested in going to various states.. with a flexible schedule.
I am familiar with Fit Bodies -but this is not what I’m looking for. I’m looking for a consistent opportunity and change. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
In this situation, if it were for myself, I would search out resorts that offer fitness and wellness packages and contact them directly. Many resorts do look for fitness instructors for their high season. Some will include lodging, etc. The key is to find who you need to contact. The more you know about who makes the hiring decisions, the easier it is to get their attention.
No. My background is not in yoga. My background is in Personal training. I specialize in body blade, spinning, krankcycle – functional fitness. I am a certified Jillian Michaels BodyShred instructor. I am interested in staying in the United States and teaching classes a resorts. My state does not offer resort training..so I’m considering becoming a traveling personal trainer. need to make some changes.
Do you have any background in yoga? I couldn’t tell from your profile. Although my family obligations have kept me from doing this sort of thing, there are tons of teachers i know who lead retreats all over. I know of one teacher from one of the studios where I teach who is leading one in Costa Rica in a couple of weeks.
If you haven’t done so you might look in the back of Yoga Journal. There are usually a lot of ads for resort/vacation/spa type places. It might give you an idea of some places you would be interested in finding more about. And even if your forte is not yoga, there are places that specialize in yoga but might have openings for people who do other things as well.
Here is a company I would like to recommend for you. They are considered one of the best in this area and they actually have their own certification:
I hope this helps.
