Hi Lisa. I find that by volunteering to speak before civic groups, school groups, business networking groups, PTA’s, volunteer organizations, and perhaps some local companies, I have no shortage of places to speak and get my name out there in the industry. You may also consider presenting a didactic class at a local community college. Just a few ideas that have worked for me.
Hi Lisa, smile
May I suggest that you seek out Community Health Fairs and Expo for the current year. Either attend and then make contact with the coordinator and let him or her know that you are very interested in helping them make history and an impact on the community by contributing your professional knowledge to their panel of speakers. Secondly, seek out Ignite events in your area they will give you 5 minutes to present on your passion.
Health expos and farmers markets might be a good place to meet someone who could provide a venue.

Live Your Best Years Now
You have already got some great ideas here. Networking meetings/groups are another way for you to get some more public speaking opportunities. You can address a group of people coming from every level of life and business background. If you are into social media Facebook, IDEA and LinkedIn are also great avenues for you to talk about your business. It might not be in front of a live audience, but still you can be heard by a large number of people.
