I am interested in more public speaking opportunities. Any suggestions?
Lisa, I saw the video you posted on your profile page. Perhaps you might focus on one of your many skills and put together a small sample of your public speaking abilities.
Utilize the suggestions IDEA Fitness Connect encourages so that you receive more hits to your sites.
If you should decide to go that route you can always use your skills in social media marketing to reach out to different associations and organizations who might have interest in you.
I wish you the best.
Having recently graduated and enrolled in college… again… I can say that universities are always looking for volunteer guest speakers. In my experience, most universities have taken BIG steps in promoting wellness on campus.
I think with a little research into the target audience and relevant issues, and if you were able to effectively sell yourself (which shouldn’t be an issue), college and university campuses would be a great place to get the kind of experience you’re looking for. Most times, different classes will actually require students to attend those events for class credit, so more often than not you’re speaking to a full house.
Shannon Fable suggests seeking fitness products or existing services that peak your interest and offer to become a master trainer for them. These companies often need people to teach others their methods and speak on their behalf.
Further, you can offer your services as a health professional to local companies and video your work. Even volunteer your time for hospitals, or non-profit organizations with employees who would benefit from fitness know-how (all of them).
Once you have a short documented history, it’s easier to sell your previous accomplishments to future projects.
