I am interested in being a health coach or wellness program coordinator for work-site wellness. I have a certification in health coaching and also will be completing this year the Wellcoaches certification. As far as work-site wellness, what is a preferred or credible certification, recognized by this industry, that would be an advantage to pursue?
I suggest completing your Fitness Connect profile so that potential clients can look at your credentials and experience.
I don’t think either or is preferred as there are no regulations on this industry.
I would compile a resume and present it to your potential client along with your business plan
There are many health coach certifications out there, and which one you choose depends on a few different factors. Others may have more information, but for work-site wellness, I know Wellcoaches has a good reputation and is used a lot. You may want to check around with local businesses in your area or even do a job search to see some of the preferred certifications.
You may want to also consider doing a few informational interviews with corporate places.
I have the ACE Health Coach certification–and use it mainly in conjunction with my personal training business. However, I wanted to know the marketability of it, so did an informational interview over the summer and found it would also work.
Good luck to you–sounds like your certification will be great!
