I am a retired Occupational Therapist, I want to get certify in Aquatic exercises to help the clients with pain and disabilities using the water as exercises
Great idea Cielo! Water exercising is really great for minimizing stress on joints and tendons, especially on seniors and those who may be more prone to injury. As for a certification maybe try WATER AEROBICS INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION from the American Sports & Fitness Association. It’s not too expensive and most likely not a very long program. You could be up and ready to instruct in no time! Stephon
The prerequisite for taking the ATRI certification exam includes completion of 15 hours of education in aquatic therapy, rehabilitation, or aquatic therapeutic exercise education, which can be achieved through hands-on learning or online courses.
I’m a certified aquatic instructor through WaterArt. You can visit their websit at www.waterart.org for more information.

Here are a few to choose from along with Karin’s and Amy’s suggestions:
You may also want to add orthopedic and similar certifications for the pain and disability factor.
