How to price yoga for student athletes
I’ve been asked to provide cool down exercises to help the cross country team at a local high school. There are about 15 students they want me to help with stretching and balance 1-2 times per week.
I have no idea how to price this. Should I give a cut rate to the school? Should I consider parking passes, milage, etc? I don’t want to out price myself because this could lead to parents being exposed to my classes and other athletic teams who want to use me. I know the money to pay for it will come from the Boosters and football is always the team that gets the most money.
Do you have an hourly rate that you charge for group exercise and / or personal training? And for how long will you be teaching them (30 minutes, an hour, 15 minutes)?
I would consider the cost of my transportation and time when determining the rate.
One thing I’ve learned is to set a base price that is similar to other rates in the area and what you want ultimately to be making. Then, offer a discount from that base rate. For example, I tell prospective clients that my base rate is $75 per hour, but I give discounts for people who make it very convenient for me to train (i.e. within a mile of my house for an at-home client, right after or right before another client for an in-gym client).
