I agree with Michael. Once you have figure out these steps then it’s easy to go forward from there. Don’t forget to add liability insurance which is different from state to state and depends on the type of services you will be offering. There is a lot of great information which you can find by searching similar questions posted from others in the past. Best of luck to you and your new business!

I would start at sba.gov
This government website help me out quite a bit when I first started. Although there’s a lot of stuff they propose you look into, there’s quite a bit you don’t need to worry about. But it’s great for answering questions about legal, planning, and finances. Basically the business stuff us science-based people don’t usually know much about.
