How to choose a quality portable sound system
I teach cardio classes in different locations and want to purchase a portable sound system with good quality around $250.00. I want to understand the specs I need to look for when researching. Watts, woofers, etc. How do I know by the specs on the web that it is a good system, will be loud enough, and have good quality sound without distortion, and the right size for my classes? I will need to add a higher quality mic system in the future so the speaker system needs to have plug ins for mp3 and mic receiver/transmitter. And be totally portable.
For my poolside (outdoor 25 meter pool) fitness classes I use a Hisonic HS120 B PA system. It weighs 6 lbs. and has a rechargable lithium battery and power cord. It comes with a few different mics, a hand held, a clip on, and a around the head style. They plug into the body pack which has a clip, but I often just put it in my pocket. It is very light and small. The sound is very good. I think it costs about $120 on Amazon. I like the very light weight of it. There are other options, I am pretty sure the one that I have is VHF, but there is bluetooth available as well.
You might look at the options from logitech. I have carried one for a few years now. The specs of what I have are slightly different from what you need, so I won’t recommend my model, but as a company I have found their products to be very well made and not likely to break with a lot of travel (and having kids bags thrown on top of it in the car on occasion). I have a double sized yoga bag and can fit it, my mat, my electric candles, and some spare clothes easily.
Good luck.
