How often do you send out client surveys?
Hi Jane,
I have only used that as an evaluation when I ran a course with a groups of participants. In that case I handed it out at the end of the course.

Years ago, we used to do them at the Y twice a year for group-ex.
I’ve never heard of it done for a personal training department. Interesting idea.
I think it would be better for me to survey the people who don’t sign up to train with me, or who don’t like my classes. The people who like me, like me, and my numbers and retention are good. I don’t have a lot of time to take on more work, but if I did, I think that’s what I’d like to know. How to turn the “no, thank you” into “yes, please.”
I do not use surveys. I have a few long term clients that are not good at self motivating. But most of my work is aimed at educating clients to be self sufficient in their exercise programs. As I have a high rate of clients returning for progrssion programs, I do not feel that a survey would be very useful. Though I do tend to contact clients regularly and discuss how they are doing and if they have questions etc.
If I was having issues with client retention or dissatisfaction, I would probably use a survey. Or at least initiate some type of program to resolve the issues keeping me from attractng and keeping clients.
