Hi fellow trainers! I am fortunate to live in an apartment building with a huge studio I can use to hold fitness classes — without being charged by the building management. That said, I was approached by a resident in my building who said she can round up about 10 other women to take a group fitness class with me for about 55 minutes. Okay, great…what would I charge? $10 a class? The number of women would vary from class to class, I imagine, and I’d do this 2 to 3 times a week. Any guidance would be helpful. They’re looking for core strengthening peppered with a bit of aerobics and strengthening, all of which I can do. Thanks for any advice on price. /Jayne
I would check to see what the going rates for such classes or any similar classes are in your area. You are providing them with the extra convenience of not having to drive to a gym, so you could add a little for that aspect. If you feel you are one of the top instructors in your area, charge at the top of your area’s going rates. If you are fairly new or using this class to gain experience, charge at the lower end of the going rates. Your question was asked in a confident tone and it was well worded, so I am betting you are a pretty fair instructor. Good luck!
