I’m going to be teaching Pilates out of my home. What is the going rate for a private session?

…and there is a 4-6 month wait list to get a session with an owner, so people definitely pay $140 an hour in the greater Portland OR area.

It really depends on the local marketplace and the education / experience / marketing skill of the instructor. The place where I study ranges between $70 and $140 per hour. $70 for someone with 1-2 years experience, $140 for an owner with 15+ years of experience.

Every area is different; I would charge the hourly rate for working with a client. I would also check around the neighborhood and other Reformer Pilates classes.

Hi Christina,

this depends on the market in your geography. Private reformer session here in Raleigh, NC run about $65 / hour but they can get more expensive is it is a very experienced instructor. This is based on the pricing at a studio where there is overhead for the facility itself.

You may find your competitors’ rates through a google search and then take it from there.
