Good Personal Trainers are priceless. But you can sometimes get a deal on a dented and dinged model, if they aren’t retired by then.
There is an old saying that is appropriate here. “You get what you pay for.” Bargain prices are often not worth the expense.
But you should always check out a trainer before you hire one. Ask around at your gym or in your area.
I agree with Jousha & Joanna’s answers .
It depends on the Credentials,Experience, Track record (Client base), Media Exposure, Location, how famous you are nationally & internationally in your market segment.
When you do have a client base focus on the are you are most passionate about eg: Fat loss/Toning/Kids/Pro-Athletes/Post-Rehab stick with them, eventually you will be well know within that circle. Then you can have your own bench mark
All of the answers are right on the mark. It depends, mostly, on how good you are. Your potential income runs a wide gamut. Charge what’s appropriate based on you experience, education and certification, as well as with regard to competitive rates in your area. Most of all, you eally have to care about people, to make them feel that you are truly their personal trainer.
Hi MK. I like Joanne’s answer! She’s right on. To that I would add – what you need to make (assuming that this question relates to YOU going entering the personal training field).
If this question is being posed as you – the consumer – then I would simply say, call around in your local area to find out what trainers are charging. I would NOT make a trainer hiring decision based solely on price, but would ask each trainer you speak to to give you details on their background, experience and client referrals.
I hope that this helps.
As has already been mentioned, there are so many variables to consider:
3. Whether the trainer is travelling to your home or if it is gym-based.
4. The type of training (clinical, sports, wellness, health)
5. Average cost of training the city one is working.
6. Clientele you are marketing towards (are they high end)
I hope this is of help to you.
