What I’d charge for a group fitness class is usually determined by the following:
-Number of participants
-Location of the class and if it would change weekly/monthly/etc.
-The exercise props needed to safely and effectively train the participants
-The additional resources needed outside of the training itself (i.e. phone/email/text support or coaching, individual workouts for the participants to do on their own time, 1-on-1 meetings to review evolving goals/achievements, etc.)
With all that in mind (and possibly more depending on the instance) the price usually results in each person paying anywhere between $10-20/class.
I hope this helps!
In terms of group exercise, I set a minimum number of participants, and the price they pay must cover my instructor rate, which varies person to person. Essentially, what is worth your time? If you’re a qualified professional, you have the right to do that in a service industry. Anyone over the minimum is extra cash for equipment, continuing education, etc.
In terms of small group (personal) training, I go to about 60-70% of one-on-one costs and allow two to four. But I also take great pride in individualizing as much as I can, and always being prepared for every client individually as well as the group.
