Depends on what type of group training I’m doing. I have a group class for moms that charges by pass, anywhere from $6-$9/class depending on the class.
For group personal training classes, I limit enrollment to 5 people per class, and charge $30/person/session.
Why this amount? Its competetive in my area and its what I feel the service I offer is worth.
I have only recently started teaching the MELT method at my studio to a mini group of 4. I am charging $15 per person. I chose that rate to make it affordable to many, and it approximates what I charge per hour.
Ironically, the question what qualifies one to charge any given rate is not even valid. What somebody charges for just about any service has nothing to do with his or her qualification but all with the perceived value this service has to the person looking for it. While rates usually hover around an average by geography, there may be some who charge much more than others. This is in part possible because some consumers automatically assume that the highest cost equals best quality, and that is not necessarily so.
