How much do group instructors get paid?

That’s a huge question, and can be dependent on your geographic location, the amount you charge for your classes, instructor experience, class attendance, and whether you are hiring employees vs. independent contractors.
I’m just outside a major metropolitan area. Group-ex instructors in my area who are employees get paid between $16 an hour and $35 per hour. Independent contractors paid hourly get more because they pay both employee and employer payroll taxes. Independent contractors could also pay you for rent and then charge their own prices for classes; that secures your rent income and the instructor bears the risk / reward for attendance. Independent contractors can also be paid by the head, i.e. one place pays me $5 per attendee.
